Aahwahan Foundation-Bringing Digital Transformation To Education (Cyl confederation of young leader)

The Indian public education system was never equipped to deal with a pandemic induced extended lockdown. Even during regular times, teachers, administrators, and parents have struggled to keep learning alive; these efforts may not be enough during the new normal. The most troubling factor in the context is the unrelenting disparities in learning opportunities and achievements across income levels, between affluent students and poor students.

The existing scenario could have a life long impact on the education of poor students. Most poor students are offline, in urban and rural landscapes. If we do not invest in bridging the divide, it would mean an opportunity lost for an entire generation. Poor students have only two choices: either log in or drop out.

Aahwahan Foundation vision is to connect one person in each family to digital education. Despite the apparent challenges, we NGO For Education are striving to spread digital learning at the grassroots; through programs that could change the course for an individual or an entire community.

Behave Responsibly or Die Thirsty! It’s your choice!

Healthy lakes and their shores not only provide us with a number of environmental benefits but they influence our quality of life and they strengthen our economy. Proper lake function can ease the impact of floods and droughts by storing large amounts of water and releasing it during shortages. Lakes also work to replenish groundwater, positively influence water quality of downstream watercourses, and preserve the biodiversity and habitat of the area.

Reconsidering the lake issue our class initiated a LAKE REJUVENATION PROGRAM i.e. cleaning a lake with limited resources. This step was taken by bunch of students along with an assigned authority by the college. This project was brought into consideration in Ecology class while disusing a social issue. The lake chosen was ‘Huliauv Lake’ as it is closest to our college and was among one of the dirtiest lake in Bangalore. Our aim was to clean the lake and its surrounding till our best. Seeing this initiative BMP also supported us, they provided us some local workers to work in deeper areas, they also let us some equipment which were used to cut weeds, dug holes and clean the area. As planned, the event was conducted on 5th September.

Firstly sharp at 9am the volunteers along with two assigned authority were called at a local government school just beside the lake. Soon after the inauguration, there was a Street Play on the ground. I with my folks tried to spread awareness about water pollution to the local crowd. Soon after the program everyone moved to the allocated site and NGO in Bangalore working for environment. The government officials guided our way through. The officials also helped us at great extent with the work. Timely, some students started cutting down weeds near the grounds and some started to dispose those weeds at disposal sites.

After 3 hours of hard work and dedication, the work came into a pause for 1 hour to have some snacks and drinks. After a great hi-tea everyone energizing came back to finish the work. Everyone including the faculty worked till 5 in the evening. Aahwahan Foundation did the best we can to clean the lake and its surrounding.
